The upcoming Genshin Impact Version 6.2 introduces a fresh cycle of the high-difficulty mode Stygian Onslaught, running from 2025/12/10 to 2026/01/13, featuring three formidable new bosses and a set of advanced mechanics revealed through beta testing and leaks. These challenging encounters will test players’ team composition, reaction chaining, and timing like never before.
According to recent leaks, this domain-style event will feature a rotation of three powerful bosses: the Iniquitous Baptist, the Battle-Hardened Iktomisaurus, and the Experimental Field Generator. Each of these enemies brings unique mechanics, elemental resistances, and environmental effects that will test players’ strategic abilities and team compositions.
The Iniquitous Baptist will once again take the field, but with enhanced mechanics and new elemental shields. It can consecutively generate Electro, Pyro, and Hydro Shields, each requiring specific Elemental Reactions to break. When all shields are destroyed, the boss’s HP decreases proportionally to the shield’s damage taken, leaving it vulnerable for a limited time. However, if players fail to destroy all shields, it will summon powerful Elemental Rings tied to the remaining elements, inflicting devastating attacks that can quickly wipe out an unprepared team.
Meanwhile, the Battle-Hardened Iktomisaurus introduces an airborne combat phase, generating a Cryo Shield and levitating above the battlefield while summoning a chaotic obsidian storm that affects nearly the entire arena. This boss features extremely high Cryo Resistance (110%) and strong AoE attacks. It can also perform its signature Frosthail Execution, an instant lethal move that can defeat a character outright if not interrupted by elemental reactions. Players must react quickly to environmental hazards like Frosthail Zones and Decoy Vortexes, which apply Anemo AoE damage and can reduce Anemo RES when properly utilized.
The third boss, the Experimental Field Generator, is unlike anything seen before in Teyvat. This massive construct creates a Gravity Reduction Field, dramatically altering combat physics. Characters can jump significantly higher, but the boss counteracts this by launching high-speed attacks that cannot be dodged through normal means. Every few seconds, its attack power increases substantially, requiring players to rely on Plunging Attacks to effectively deal damage and reduce its layers of enhancement. Timing and positioning become essential, as failure to manage these mechanics will result in overwhelming pressure from its continuous gravitational pulses.
Each boss in Stygian Onslaught comes with specific resistance values, HP scaling, and enhanced behavior in higher difficulty tiers. For example, data from the beta lists HP ranges exceeding 20 million for the Experimental Field Generator, indicating this event will push players’ builds and reaction times to their limits. Rewards are expected to include Primogems, Talent Materials, Weapon Ascension Ores, and possibly new enhancement resources exclusive to this event, adding further incentive for competitive players.
With Genshin Impact 6.2 slated for release on December 10, 2025, this new mode promises to redefine endgame combat and provide a more dynamic and skill-based experience. As always, these details come from early Beta data and are subject to change before the final version, but fans are already excited to face these formidable new bosses in the Stygian Onslaught.
