Razor’s New Overload Team Could Rival Raiden And Clorinde After Aquelarre Buffs

Community tests show C6 Razor with full 4 star Overload team approaching or surpassing top Raiden comps in Genshin Impact’s Luna era

Razor has returned to the spotlight in the latest Genshin Impact meta discussion, and this time the claim is bold. With new Aquelarre consonance buffs, optimized Overload teams and full constellations, many theorycrafters argue that Razor can rival or even surpass Raiden and Clorinde in specific setups. What was once a nostalgic early game main carry is now being reconsidered as a powerful four star option that can anchor a team built entirely from four star characters.

Originally, Razor was designed as a physical DPS with extremely high normal attack scaling. That power was largely wasted once physical teams fell out of the meta after Eula’s release. For years, Razor’s problems were clear. Low Electro multipliers. An outdated 80 energy burst cost. No innate crit scaling as a four star. Even with strong claymores like Redhorn or Beacon of the Reed Sea, he struggled to reach ideal crit ratios and damage ceilings.

The new Aquelarre buffs change everything. In modern builds, Razor is no longer played as a physical carry. Instead, he functions as a dual element Overload carry, abusing Pyro and Electro hits at the same time. This style started with the old Thunder Fury inspired Razor Bennett C6 comp, where Bennett’s C6 infused Razor with Pyro so he could hit with both Pyro and Electro and interact with unbalanced reaction rules. Now, with the Aquelarre consonance and new passives, Razor can again hit with both elements, but the focus is on Overload and team wide buffs rather than outdated Burn and Hyperbloom tricks.

One of Razor’s biggest historical weaknesses, his energy, has been heavily mitigated. A new passive allows him to generate more Electro sigils when he triggers reactions. Inside his burst, extra sigils continue to generate and each one restores around seven energy. Combined with frequent elemental skill casts during his rotation, this means his effective 80 energy cost becomes much more manageable. Instead of struggling to burst every rotation, Razor can maintain very high uptime on his wolf form in modern Overload teams.

Damage and crit were the other major issues. Here, the Aquelarre passive and Razor’s C6 constellation do most of the work. Aquelarre boosts the damage of Electro hits in his burst by almost seventy percent in ideal conditions. On top of that, Razor C6 grants a large spike in crit stats, around ten percent crit rate and fifty percent crit damage, similar to the kind of upgrade seen on Gaming. Combined with the Reed Sea style claymore and an attack focused artifact setup, Razor can now reach around 70 to 80 percent crit rate and 250 or more crit damage. For a four star, these numbers are absurd and finally let his huge multipliers shine.

The recommended team that has excited the community the most is a full four star Overload lineup. Razor, Fischl, Chevreuse and Bennett C6. In this squad, Bennett provides massive attack buffs and Pyro application. Chevreuse adds Overload focused buffs and team support. Fischl delivers high off field Electro damage and, with the new consonance, grants extra attack and sometimes elemental mastery to the active character. Razor sits at the center as the on field carry, triggering Overload constantly with double element hits and converting all the buffs into explosive damage.

Content creators argue that this Razor Fischl Chevreuse Bennett C6 team can compete directly with many Raiden teams, even some Raiden C2 lineups, provided all four stars are at C6. Because all members are four stars, building them is more accessible over time for free to play or low spending players. Some analysts even place this composition alongside Gaming’s four star melt teams, calling them the two strongest four star based carries in the current environment.

Rotation management remains important. Razor’s animations are still slower than newer characters and require careful dash cancels between normal attacks and skills to avoid losing too many frames. The classic pattern involves elemental skill, charged attack, burst, more skills and strings of three normals with dashes in between. It is not as smooth as modern animation cancel heavy carries, but experienced Razor mains are accustomed to this style and can execute rotations that keep damage uptime high without draining all stamina.

Looking ahead, there is growing speculation about a future Aquelarre artifact set tailored for characters like Razor and Durin. If a new set further buffs team damage or amplifies both on field and off field hits depending on who wears it, Razor’s potential ceiling could rise even higher. Players already discuss whether he should focus on Pyro goblet, Electro goblet or pure attack goblet to maximize his dual element nature, and a tailored set could lock in one of these paths as clearly optimal.

For now, the conclusion from community analysis is clear. With Aquelarre consonance, C6 stats and optimized Overload partners, Razor is no longer a relic of the early game. He is a serious four star carry who can challenge premium five stars like Raiden and Clorinde in very specific, well built teams. For long time fans and new players looking for a powerful, stylish claymore main, the Luna era might be the perfect moment to raise Razor to level 90 and finally let the wolf run free again.
