Genshin Impact Version 7.0 Device Requirements Revealed as HoYoverse Confirms Visual Upgrades and Android Compatibility Changes

HoYoverse has unveiled the official hardware requirements for Genshin Impact Version 7.0, confirming enhanced graphics, unchanged requirements for most platforms and new compatibility risks affecting select Android devices.

HoYoverse has officially shared the device performance requirements for Genshin Impact Version 7.0, giving players an early look at what to expect before the highly anticipated journey to Snezhnaya begins. Alongside the announcement, the developer confirmed that the next major update will introduce significant visual improvements while keeping the recommended and supported specifications unchanged for the vast majority of players across PC, iOS, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and most Android devices.

As Genshin Impact approaches its sixth anniversary, HoYoverse emphasized that continuous optimization remains one of the studio's highest priorities. According to the developer, Version 7.0 will feature enhanced character models, improved environmental textures, updated visual effects and other graphical enhancements designed to make Snezhnaya feel more immersive than ever. Despite these upgrades, the team says most existing hardware capable of running the current version will continue to support the game without requiring an upgrade.

  • One of the biggest takeaways from the announcement is that minimum and recommended specifications remain unchanged for nearly every platform. PC, iOS, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S users will not see any changes to the official hardware requirements. Likewise, the recommended Android specifications remain the same, with Snapdragon 855, Dimensity 1000 or Kirin 980 processors and 6 GB RAM continuing to provide the best gameplay experience.

For players using entry level Android devices, the minimum supported specifications also remain unchanged. Snapdragon 660, Helio G88, 4 GB RAM and Android 10.0 continue to represent the baseline required to install and run Genshin Impact Version 7.0. However, HoYoverse issued an important warning regarding several GPU architectures that may encounter compatibility issues despite technically meeting the minimum hardware requirements.

  • Beginning with Version 7.0, a small number of Android SoCs may experience black screens, freezing, startup failures or other stability problems due to limitations in their graphics architecture. Newly identified compatibility risks include devices using Mali-G52 MP2, Mali-G57 MP graphics and Imagination BXM series GPUs. The developer specifically highlighted processors such as UNISOC T606, T612, T616, T618, T619, T610, along with MediaTek Dimensity 7020, Dimensity 7025, Dimensity 7025 Ultra, Dimensity 7030 and Dimensity 930 as examples of hardware that could encounter unexpected issues after the update.

The announcement also reiterates previously identified compatibility concerns involving older PowerVR GE, GM and Rogue GPU architectures found in processors like the MediaTek Helio P35, Helio G36 and Helio G25. While these devices remain officially listed under compatibility risks, HoYoverse clarified that the new additions represent further refinements to its ongoing hardware testing as the game's visual technology continues to evolve.

  • On iOS, the supported hardware remains unchanged, with iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X and newer devices continuing to receive support. Players seeking the best experience are encouraged to use an iPhone 12 series or newer, powered by the Apple A13 chip or later. Meanwhile, PC users can continue playing with Windows 10 64-bit, a 6th Generation Intel Core i5 or equivalent processor, 8 GB RAM and a GeForce GTX 1050 class graphics card, while Windows 11, 16 GB RAM and a GeForce GTX 1060 6GB or better remain the recommended configuration.

Although the announcement primarily focuses on performance, it also reinforces HoYoverse's long term commitment to maintaining accessibility while pushing the game's visual quality forward. The developer acknowledged that each major update introduces increasingly detailed environments, more advanced rendering techniques and higher quality character assets. Even so, the goal remains to ensure that as many Travelers as possible can continue exploring Teyvat without needing to replace their hardware.

With Version 7.0 preparing to introduce Snezhnaya, one of the most anticipated regions in Genshin Impact's history, expectations are higher than ever. The newly confirmed hardware requirements suggest that players can look forward to a substantial graphical leap while most existing systems remain fully supported. For owners of affected Android devices, however, checking processor compatibility before the update arrives could help avoid unexpected technical issues when the next chapter of the adventure officially begins.
