With the introduction of the Level 100 system and the limited availability of purple ascension bottles, many Travelers are now facing an important strategic decision. These bottles are extremely rare resources. Some long time players may have accumulated a few after losing multiple 50 50s or maximizing standard five star constellations, while free to play players often only own one or two after years of gameplay. That scarcity means every decision must be calculated carefully.

Raising a character from level 90 to 100 provides a measurable performance increase. Depending on scaling and team composition, the improvement ranges from 3 percent up to 10 percent total damage gain. In certain optimized builds, that boost can be equivalent to equipping a near perfect artifact upgrade. However, not all characters benefit equally. To determine who deserves investment, three key criteria must be considered.

First, personal value and long term usage matter. If a character is central to your account and frequently used in endgame content, the upgrade has higher practical impact. While efficiency is important, players with limited bottles should prioritize characters that actively carry their roster.

Second, tier relevance plays a role. Characters consistently placed high in the current meta tier lists tend to extract more value from additional scaling. Raising a low impact support purely for preference is possible, but it is rarely optimal.

Third, and most important, is damage distribution within a team. Main DPS characters, also called carries, benefit far more from Level 100 scaling than supports. If a character contributes 70 to 80 percent of a team’s total damage, amplifying their base stats results in a significant overall increase. By contrast, upgrading a buffer who only contributes minor personal damage often provides negligible improvement.

Understanding reaction mechanics is critical. Level 100 increases the base values of Attack, Defense, and HP, but it also enhances the scaling of elemental reactions. The biggest beneficiaries are characters who rely on Vaporize and Melt reactions, especially those triggering the stronger multiplier variants. When Pyro triggers Melt on Cryo or Hydro triggers Vaporize on Pyro, the reaction multiplier reaches its maximum potential, making scaling gains much more impactful.

Based on current analysis, the two strongest Level 100 candidates in the entire game are Mavuika and Mualani. Both capitalize on high base stat scaling and consistently trigger high multiplier reactions. Their kits are designed around maximizing Melt or Vaporize efficiency, meaning the Level 100 boost amplifies both their raw stats and their reaction output simultaneously.

Following them are reaction based carries like Flins and Zibai, who benefit from Lunar reaction scaling combined with their primary stat interactions. While their gains are slightly lower than top Melt and Vaporize carries, they still represent strong investments due to consistent reaction triggers.

Characters such as Skirk and Nefer occupy a secondary tier. Skirk benefits primarily from increased base Attack scaling rather than reaction multipliers. Nefer gains from Lunar Bloom multipliers, though her scaling depends heavily on Mastery interactions rather than direct stat increases. They are strong options, but not the absolute top priority compared to Mavuika or Mualani.

Meanwhile, many traditional hyper carries like Neuvillette gain relatively little from Level 100. Because Neuvillette does not rely on Vaporize or Melt reactions in optimal play, the reaction scaling bonus is irrelevant. His HP increases slightly, but the marginal gain is far smaller compared to reaction focused DPS units.

When evaluating supports, the list becomes even shorter. Most four star supports, including Bennett, Xiangling, Xingqiu, and Fischl, do not benefit meaningfully. Bennett’s buff does not scale significantly from his own level 100 base increase, making the investment inefficient.

Among five star supports, only a few stand out. Ineffa is a strong candidate at C0 due to her substantial off field damage contribution and reaction scaling. Columbina, particularly at higher constellations such as C1 or C2 with proper weapon synergy, becomes an excellent Level 100 option because she transitions into a powerful off field sub DPS with meaningful reaction amplification. At C0, however, Ineffa generally provides more value than Columbina due to higher consistent damage output.

A special mention goes to Durin, who theoretically benefits from Melt scaling. However, current meta team compositions do not maximize his reaction potential consistently. If future team archetypes unlock stable Melt focused builds for him, his Level 100 value could increase significantly.

In summary, the current Level 100 efficiency ranking looks like this:

  • Top Tier Priority
    Mavuika
    Mualani

  • High Value
    Flins
    Zibai

  • Situational but Strong
    Skirk
    Nefer

  • Support Investments
    Ineffa at C0
    Columbina at C1 or higher

Everyone else provides diminishing returns unless chosen for personal attachment rather than efficiency.

Ultimately, Level 100 is not about maximizing every character. It is about identifying which unit defines your account’s damage ceiling. Because purple bottles are limited and may only allow one full Level 100 upgrade every several years for some players, the decision should align with both meta impact and long term roster stability.

Used correctly, Level 100 can meaningfully enhance your strongest carry and improve Spiral Abyss performance. Used impulsively, it becomes a cosmetic flex rather than a strategic advantage.
