HoYoverse has officially confirmed the Genshin Impact Version 6.5 banner lineup, bringing new characters and a surprising twist to the highly anticipated Fontaine Chronicled Wish. The announcement, revealed during the recent “Luna VI” Special Program, outlines a two phase banner cycle that is already generating intense discussion across the community.
For Phase 1, Linnea and Chasca will take center stage, marking their debut as featured banner characters. Both are expected to play key roles in the evolving storyline, with early reactions highlighting strong design appeal and potential gameplay impact. Moving into Phase 2, Nefer and Lauma will headline the banners, continuing the trend of introducing fresh faces that expand the roster and deepen the narrative direction of Version 6.5.
However, the most talked about element of the reveal is the Fontaine Chronicled Wish, which introduces a notable change compared to previous iterations. For the first time, the Chronicled Wish banner will reportedly feature only five characters instead of the usual six or seven, breaking a long standing pattern that many players had come to expect.
This adjustment has sparked widespread debate, with players questioning the reasoning behind the reduced lineup. While some believe it could indicate a more curated or balanced selection, others see it as a missed opportunity to include additional fan favorite characters.
Adding fuel to the discussion is the absence of Wriothesley, a character whose banner drought has now reached a significant milestone. As of yesterday, it has officially been 365 days since Wriothesley last appeared on a banner, making his exclusion from the Fontaine Chronicled Wish particularly surprising. Many fans had anticipated his return through this system, especially given its focus on region specific characters.
