With Version 6.2 just around the corner, Genshin Impact players are getting a rare free 4 star character selection tied to the newly buffed Aquelarre lineup. The event lets Travelers choose one of three classic Mondstadt units. Sucrose, Fischl or Razor. All three received strong upgrades ahead of the Luna era and new Simulanka content, so picking the right free character is more important than it first appears.

  • According to community breakdowns, new players should prioritize Sucrose above any other option. At C0, Sucrose already offers powerful crowd control, team wide Elemental Mastery sharing and Anemo Swirl setups that are perfect for modern reaction teams. Her C1 constellation, which unlocks a second Elemental Skill charge, is considered the only truly important constellation in her kit for most current rotations. In popular teams like Flins Electrocargado, players rarely even use her Burst anymore, focusing instead on quick Skill casts that group enemies and activate buffs within a tight 15 to 16 second rotation. Extra constellations past C1 add very little for these optimized teams, so veterans who already own Sucrose C1 or higher may want to look elsewhere.

  • The second candidate is Razor, who quietly received some of the most dramatic improvements among four star carries. Thanks to the Aquelarre buffs and reworked constellations, Razor now supports a full four star team that can rival or surpass older five star lineups. His C4 reduces enemy Defense whenever his Elemental Skill hits, and his rotation throws out a huge number of these Skills, especially when paired with Sucrose and Fischl. The real prize, however, is his C6, which now grants massive Crit Rate and Crit Damage when Magic Consonance is active. Combined with Attack buffs from Bennett and new multipliers on his Burst, a fully built C6 Razor can more than triple his previous damage output. Even so, content creators caution that Razor still sits behind premium Electro carries like Varesa and Flins, so only committed Razor mains should invest their free pick and future pulls into his constellations.

  • The third and arguably most future proof choice is Fischl. Many players already obtained her for free through past events, but for those still missing copies, she remains one of the strongest Electro off field supports in the game. Her early constellations offer small quality of life upgrades, yet the spotlight is firmly on C6, which enables the famous “machine gun” Fischl playstyle. At C6, Oz fires extra coordinated attacks whenever the on field character deals damage, greatly multiplying total team hits in Electro Charged, Overload and multi hit comps. After the latest Aquelarre buffs, C6 becomes even more absurd. Overload now increases Attack for Fischl and the active character, while Electro Charged raises their Elemental Mastery. With two Aquelarre members in the party, these buffs even double, effectively granting the team the equivalent of multiple Noblesse and EM sets for free.

For new accounts, the recommended order is simple. Choose Sucrose if you do not own her, since C0 already unlocks strong Anemo support and universal Swirl setups. After that, chase Fischl up to C6, because her upgraded passive and multi hit synergy scale incredibly well with future Electro and reaction based content. Razor C6 comes last in priority, a powerful but more niche choice aimed at players who specifically enjoy his playstyle and want to build a dedicated Electro physical hybrid carry around him.

For veterans who already have these characters at high constellations, the decision may come down to five extra Masterless Starglitter, effectively a free wish. However, the Version 6.2 event also includes mini missions for each character that unlock their new Aquelarre buffs, encouraging players to revisit old favorites in fresh team comps. Many creators plan to showcase updated Razor overload teams, Fischl Electrocargado lunar variants and Sucrose based reaction squads once the patch goes live.

As Version 6.2 approaches, the free 4 star selection is shaping up to be one of the most impactful quality of life events in recent memory. Whether you are starting a new account, returning after a break or optimizing an end game roster, understanding how Sucrose, Fischl and Razor perform under the new Aquelarre system will help you squeeze maximum value out of this free character ticket.
