A new Genshin Impact story leak claims that Snezhnaya’s main storyline will conclude in Version 7.3 without the Traveler completely defeating the Heavenly Principles. The report comes from Chinese leaker Shirai Kuroko, who posted the claim on Telegram on September 17 at 16:20 UTC. It remains unconfirmed, and the wording leaves important questions about what ‘conclude’ means for both Snezhnaya and the wider Teyvat story.
The post says Version 7.3 will finish Snezhnaya’s main plot, but that the conflict with the Heavenly Principles will not be fully resolved there. It also claims Rhinedottir, Istaroth and Asmoday will survive the events described by the source, while Ronova will die. Those character outcomes are leak claims, not details announced by HoYoverse, and they may change before the relevant quests are released.
Shirai’s message was partly a clarification of an older post. In August, the same source claimed that players would fight Ronova in Version 7.1 and that she would die after attacking Paimon. The September follow-up repeats that outcome, so Ronova’s reported death is not new information by itself. The material development is the newly stated Version 7.3 endpoint, the claim that the Heavenly Principles remain undefeated, and the reported survival of the other named figures.
What the Version 7.3 leak actually says
The most consequential part of the report is its distinction between ending Snezhnaya’s main storyline and ending Genshin Impact’s larger celestial conflict. If the wording is accurate, Version 7.3 could close the central regional Archon Quest while leaving the struggle involving the Heavenly Principles for a later chapter.
That would not necessarily make Version 7.3 the end of all Snezhnaya content. Genshin Impact has previously returned to regions through interludes, character quests, map expansions and limited events after their central Archon Quest arcs concluded. The leak does not specify whether later Snezhnaya chapters, epilogues or unexplored areas would follow. It only refers to the main storyline.
The source also says that the Seven arrive in versions after the reported Version 7.1 confrontation with Ronova. This corrects a possible reading of the August claim, which some players interpreted as placing the Archons’ arrival inside Version 7.1. The follow-up explicitly says that their appearance would happen later, although it gives no exact version, quest title or scene description.
One line says the group encounters ‘Genshin,’ using a term that can be translated or interpreted in more than one way outside full story context. The post does not explain whether this refers to a person, concept, title or lore term. Until a fuller script or an official localization is available, treating that line as proof of a specific identity would go beyond the evidence.
Why the timing fits the current official story setup
HoYoverse has already positioned Version 7.1 as a major chapter in Snezhnaya’s story. The official trailer, titled ‘A Rekviem for the Underworld,’ was released ahead of the update’s planned September 23 launch and places death, the underworld and gathering forces at the center of its presentation. That first-party material does not confirm the Version 7.3 leak, but it establishes why Ronova and the rules surrounding death are relevant to the current arc.
HoYoverse also released the ‘Death Is Near’ cutscene animation in August. Its official wording describes Death as a force that must face the wrath of the living while remaining confined by the limits of death. The animation gave players direct story context for the conflict without revealing the later outcomes now claimed by Shirai.
The official material therefore supports the setting and characters, not the leaked ending. HoYoverse has not announced that Snezhnaya’s main story ends in Version 7.3, that the Heavenly Principles will remain undefeated, or that any of the listed characters will survive or die. Those details should remain separated from confirmed promotional information.
