A new Genshin Impact Version 7.2 leak names two alleged Snezhnaya areas as Novokitezhgrad and a “wing-like mountain,” while circulating a broader image of a snow-covered map expansion. The post adds readable place concepts to an earlier map overview, but it does not label the image itself or explain where either area begins and ends.
The area names appeared on September 22 alongside a map image that does not mark their precise positions. The leak remains unconfirmed.
HoYoverse has not announced this Version 7.2 map expansion or confirmed either English name. The spelling and descriptive translation may change, especially because “wing-like mountain” reads as a literal description rather than a finalized localized place name.
The map shows a large frozen landmass without printed labels
The leaked image depicts a broad icy area surrounded by dark teal water. A rail or roadway curves through the western and southern parts of the landmass before reaching a built-up structure near the lower coast. The eastern side is dominated by a large white formation that resembles layered feathers or wings, while a tall mountainous section rises in the northeast.
A red, scar-like route or zone runs through the middle of the image. A gold-colored feature appears in the northwest, and a separate complex is visible along the southern shore. These are visual observations only. The image does not identify the red route, gold feature, rail line or coastal structure by name.
The post lists Novokitezhgrad and the wing-like mountain beneath the “New area” heading, but it does not place text markers over the map. It would therefore be unsafe to assign Novokitezhgrad to the port, the gold region or any other visible feature. The image supports the claim that a sizeable frozen area is being shown, not a precise labeled geography.
The names are new even though the expansion is not
GamesAndChill previously covered an August 28 report about a possible Version 7.2 expansion centered on Puerto Belovodye. That earlier article discussed a preliminary map reference and warned that its boundaries, design and regional connections were not confirmed.
A separate map overview from earlier on September 22 was also reviewed. It showed the expansion but did not add readable place names or enough boundary detail to justify another article by itself. The newer material is different because it explicitly supplies two area names, including Novokitezhgrad.
That does not prove that Novokitezhgrad replaces Puerto Belovodye or that the two terms refer to the same location. They could describe different settlements or subareas within the broader expansion. The available post does not explain their relationship, so the names should remain separate until a labeled map or more detail appears.
What remains unknown about Version 7.2's alleged areas
The leak does not provide teleport waypoints, Statues of The Seven, exploration percentages, quest requirements, underground layers or a comparison against the live Snezhnaya map. It also does not identify which visible structures are cities, domains, transport hubs or decorative terrain.
The edited status creates another limitation. The current public preview confirms the wording visible at the time of this check, but it does not show what was changed after the original publication. That makes the exact first-post wording less certain than an unedited record.
For players tracking exploration updates, the useful development is narrow but concrete: the latest leak names Novokitezhgrad and a wing-like mountain alongside a new map image. The scale and frozen terrain make the leak notable, but the image still lacks the labels needed to connect either name to a specific landmark. All names, shapes and release timing remain unofficial and subject to change before HoYoverse announces Version 7.2.
