A major wave of Genshin Impact 7.0 beta leaks has finally revealed the complete kit of the Cryo Traveler, giving players their first detailed look at how the protagonist will function once the journey reaches Snezhnaya. Unlike previous elemental versions of the Traveler, the Cryo variant appears to introduce an entirely new gameplay system built around Stellar-Conduct and Stellar-Swirl, two reaction mechanics expected to define Version 7.0.
Elemental Skill: Frostmist Blade
According to the leaked beta data, the Traveler's Elemental Skill, Frostmist Blade, thrusts the sword forward and releases a freezing mist that deals Cryo Damage to enemies while creating a special construct known as Frigid Froststar.
The Froststar remains active for several seconds, periodically launching ice crystals toward nearby enemies. These projectiles deal additional Cryo damage and serve as the core mechanic behind much of the Traveler's kit.
When the Traveler enters the Radiance: Stellar-Conduct state, Frigid Froststar behaves differently. Instead of automatically firing ice crystals, they are generated whenever the Traveler performs Normal Attacks, Charged Attacks or Plunging Attacks, creating a much more aggressive combat rhythm.
Whenever one of these ice crystals hits an opponent, the Traveler gains one stack of Frostglow, with a maximum of eight stacks. These stacks become one of the most important resources throughout the entire kit, empowering multiple abilities and interactions.
Frostglow Mechanic
The leaked description identifies Frostglow as the Traveler's unique combat resource.
Every successful crystal hit grants one stack, allowing players to gradually build power during combat. Frostglow stacks remain available during battle but disappear after being out of combat for thirty seconds.
Managing Frostglow efficiently appears to be one of the central mechanics of the Cryo Traveler, since both the Elemental Burst and Charged Attacks consume these stacks to unlock stronger effects.
Elemental Burst: Frozen Spear
The Traveler's Elemental Burst, Frozen Spear, condenses Cryo energy into a powerful spear before throwing it toward enemies, dealing multiple instances of Cryo Damage.
The Burst immediately consumes every available Frostglow stack, increasing its overall damage based on the number consumed. If the Traveler has accumulated the maximum eight Frostglow stacks, Frozen Spear gains additional hits, significantly boosting its damage potential.
While the Traveler is inside Radiance: Stellar-Flare, Frozen Spear undergoes another transformation. Instead of dealing standard Cryo damage, the Burst becomes Stellar-Flare Reaction Damage, allowing it to directly benefit from the new reaction system introduced in Version 7.0.
Charged Attack: Frostfreeze
Cryo Traveler also receives a completely new Charged Attack mechanic called Frostfreeze.
This attack deals increased Cryo damage with an additional bonus that scales from the Traveler's ATK. Every activation grants two Frostglow stacks, making it one of the fastest methods for preparing the Elemental Burst.
The leaked data also states that Frostfreeze can only receive its enhanced damage bonus once every fifteen seconds. When the Traveler enters Radiance: Stellar-Flare, Frostfreeze itself transforms into Stellar-Flare Reaction Damage, further reinforcing the character's focus on reaction-based gameplay.
Ascension Passives
The Cryo Traveler receives several powerful passive talents that dramatically expand the kit.
The first passive, Self-Honed Frost, converts the Traveler's Normal, Charged and Plunging Attacks into Cryo damage while Frigid Froststar is active. These attacks cannot be overridden by other Elemental Infusions and additionally gain bonus damage equal to 80% of the Traveler's ATK.
Another passive, Crystal-Clear Frost, grants Elemental Mastery equal to 8% of the Traveler's ATK, up to a maximum of 160 Elemental Mastery, making offensive ATK builds even more rewarding.
The additional passive, Layers of a Foreign Land, introduces another unique mechanic. Whenever nearby teammates deal Stellar-Conduct or Stellar-Swirl damage, the Traveler gains one stack of Frozen Blade, up to three stacks. Performing a Charged Attack consumes every stack and replaces it with the enhanced Frostfreeze attack.
Utility Passive
One of the largest surprises in the leaked kit is the Traveler's new Utility Passive, which fundamentally changes how elemental reactions function.
While inside a Polestar Field, or shortly after triggering Stellar-Swirl, the Traveler automatically enters either Radiance: Stellar-Conduct or Radiance: Stellar-Swirl depending on the active reaction.
Even more importantly, when nearby party members would normally trigger Superconduct or Cryo Swirl, those reactions are automatically converted into Stellar-Conduct and Stellar-Swirl instead.
The passive also increases the base damage of these reactions for the entire team. Every 100 ATK increases their base damage by 0.35%, reaching a maximum increase of 7%, making the Traveler an excellent reaction support for future Snezhnaya teams.
Constellations
The leaked Constellations further strengthen every aspect of the Traveler's kit.
C1 restores 5 Elemental Energy whenever the Traveler deals Stellar-Flare Reaction Damage, improving Burst uptime.
C2 grants the active character 60 Elemental Mastery after an ice crystal hits an enemy. If that character later triggers a Stellar Reaction or deals Stellar-Flare damage, the bonus increases to 120 Elemental Mastery for the remaining duration.
C4 increases the duration of Frigid Froststar by 25%, allowing the Traveler to maintain Cryo application for much longer.
Finally, C6 significantly boosts team damage. Every Frostglow stack consumed while casting Frozen Spear increases nearby party members' Stellar-Flare Reaction Damage by 5%, reaching a maximum bonus of 40% for fifteen seconds.
Taken together, the leaked kit suggests that the Cryo Traveler is designed to become far more than a free starter character. With powerful team buffs, reaction conversion, Cryo infusion, Elemental Mastery scaling and extensive support for the new Stellar-Conduct and Stellar-Swirl mechanics, the protagonist could become one of the most influential characters in the Version 7.0 meta.
