Hu Tao

Hu Tao

Fragrance in Thaw

The 77th Director of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor. She took over the business at a rather young age.

Element

Pyro

Weapon

Polearm

Region

Liyue

Affiliation

Wangsheng Funeral Parlor

Constellation

Papilio Charontis

Birthday

July 15

Talent Priority:

  • 90% of his damage is reflected in his Normal Attack, so this is the one that should be crowned.

  • Her Elemental Skill is very important, as this is where Hu Tao gets the attack power for scaling all of her damage.

  • Her Elemental Burst is an area nuke that deals great damage, but crowning it is not mandatory.

In summary, the most important is his Normal Attack, but both the Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst are also important and directly affect his total damage. If you have extra crowns, Hu Tao can be an excellent option for triple crowning.

The ideal setup would be 10/9/9 in terms of Talents.

Constellation Recommendation:

  • Her C1 is the most important above any of Hu Tao’s constellations; it will give you a lot of convenience when executing her Charged Attack chain and help prevent running out of stamina.

Main Stats:

Clock: HP% ------ Chalice: Pyro Bonus ------ Crown: Crit. Rate or Crit. DMG.

Sub Stats:

You will want to go for Crit. Rate, Crit. DMG, HP%, Elemental Mastery, and a bit of Energy Rech.

Recommended Stats:

Try to get 70% Crit Rate, 240% Crit Damage, 40,000 HP (34,000 with Dragon’s Bane), 200–300 Elemental Mastery, and 120% Energy Recharge.

Important: Her best set is Marechaussee Hunter, but it only works if paired with Furina. Both Gilded Dreams and Crimson Witch of Flames are excellent options outside of teams with Furina.

Her best option will always be her signature weapon, Staff of Homa, but Dragon’s Bane R5 is her best second weapon, even though there are many other 5-star polearms.

In a team with Xianyun, Hu Tao could go C0 without any problem, since she doesn’t spend much stamina due to doing fewer Charged Attacks, and half of them will be Plunging Attacks.

Hu Tao Build Guide

This Hu Tao build guide focuses on optimizing the legendary Pyro polearm user for high damage output. By mastering her unique HP scaling mechanics and elemental skill rotations, players can achieve peak performance in various Vaporize team compositions.

Best Weapons

  • Staff of Homa: This is the signature best weapon for Hu Tao, providing massive Critical Damage and HP bonuses. It is the top choice for any build looking to maximize her personal damage and synergy with her low HP mechanics.
  • Dragon's Bane: A powerful four star option that excels in Vaporize teams due to its high Elemental Mastery and passive damage increase. It is ideal for players who need to balance their reaction damage without a five star polearm.
  • Staff of the Scarlet Sands: This weapon is excellent for builds focusing on high Elemental Mastery, converting that stat into a significant Attack bonus. It works exceptionally well when paired with specific artifact sets that boost mastery.
  • Deathmatch: A reliable choice from the Battle Pass that provides a high Critical Rate, making it easier to balance your stat priorities. It is a solid consistent option for maintaining high damage across various combat scenarios.

Best Artifacts

  • Gilded Dreams: This is considered the best set for maximum rotation damage because it provides a massive boost to Elemental Mastery. It is perfect for high investment builds aiming for the strongest possible elemental reactions.
  • Crimson Witch of Flames: A classic choice that ranks as the second best set, offering high Pyro damage and reaction bonuses. It is highly recommended because it provides consistent power without the energy penalties found in other sets.
  • Marechaussee Hunter: This situational set is highly effective when Hu Tao is paired with Furina and Xianyun or Xilonen. It allows for incredible Critical Rate stacking through the consistent HP fluctuations caused by her teammates.
  • Shimenawa's Reminiscence: While it offers strong Normal and Charged Attack buffs, it is the third best option due to its energy drain. This penalty can limit your versatility by making it harder to use your Ultimate ability.

Teams and Stat Priorities

  • For optimal stat priorities, aim for 34k to 40k HP, 100 to 300+ Elemental Mastery, and a Critical Rate of 70% to 75%. Ensure your Energy Recharge reaches 115% to 120% for consistent rotations.
  • The Super Vaporize team featuring Furina, Yelan, and Xianyun allows Hu Tao to utilize plunging attacks for massive damage. This composition provides incredible buffs and consistent Hydro application for powerful reactions.
  • A Double Hydro team with Furina, Yelan, and Xilonen offers a different approach to maximizing damage through elemental shred and resonance. This setup focuses on high sustained DPS and strong survivability.
  • The classic Double Geo team with Albedo and Zhongli provides Hu Tao with the strongest shields and Geo resonance. This is a very comfortable niche that ensures she can attack safely while maintaining low HP.
  • A traditional Vaporize team using Xingqiu, Kazuha, and Bennett focuses on Pyro swirling and massive Attack buffs. This setup is excellent for players who prefer a more standard offensive support structure.
