Genshin Impact is set to release its Version Luna VI update on April 8, unveiling the highly anticipated “Song of the Welkin Moon: Rondo - Augured Homecoming” event. This expansive update introduces a new 5-star character, Linnea, the Augur of Wonders, new areas in Mondstadt, additional story content, and multiple gameplay improvements that will redefine the Teyvat experience for adventurers.
The update also provides compensation for maintenance and issue fixes, with 600 Primogems in total available for Travelers who have reached Adventure Rank 5 or above. Maintenance compensation awards 60 Primogems per hour of downtime, while issue fix compensation delivers an additional 300 Primogems. Players must claim these rewards before the end of Version Luna VI to ensure they do not miss out.
Players can update Genshin Impact Version Luna VI on multiple platforms. On PC, close the game, open the launcher, and click Update. iOS users should open the App Store and tap Update, while Android players can follow the in-game prompts. PlayStation®5 users can highlight the game from the Home screen, press OPTIONS, and select Check for Update. On Xbox Series X|S, open the system menu, go to My games & apps > Manage > Updates, and confirm the update. Note: PlayStation®4 will no longer receive updates, so PS4 players should transition to PS5 or other supported platforms.
A key highlight of the update is Linnea, a Geo support character equipped with a bow, designed to trigger Lunar-Crystallize reactions. As a naturalist and advisor to the Nod-Krai Branch of the Adventurers’ Guild, Linnea brings Geo RES reduction, healing, and off-field damage capabilities to party compositions. Her story quest, “Alcyon Chapter: Act I - Up! Toward Homecoming Wings”, will be permanently available after the update and offers Focused Experience Mode for streamlined gameplay.
Alongside Linnea, Version Luna VI introduces the event-exclusive 5-star weapon Golden Frostbound Oath, a bow that enhances Geo DMG and Lunar-Crystallize reaction damage for both the wielder and nearby allies. This weapon is obtainable through the Event Wish and is expected to become a strategic asset for high-level gameplay.
Players will also explore new areas, including Windrest Peak and the Temple of Space, complete with Teleport Waypoints, Memory Core mechanics, Fishing Points, and Radiant Spincrystals. The Temple of Space introduces Mnemonic Clusters and Memory Factors, allowing adventurers to unlock blessings and uncover lost memories of civilization. These areas provide rich opportunities for exploration, combat, and resource collection.
Version Luna VI also adds new world quests, such as “A Long Day in the Mountains” and “Winds Beneath the Tower of Silence,” and challenging new enemies including the Watcher: Fallen Vigil and Domain Keeper, each with unique elemental monitoring mechanics that demand strategic combat approaches.
In addition to story content, the update enhances the Genius Invokation TCG, with new character and action cards, updated Tavern Challenges, and a refreshed Forge Realm event. Players can acquire new cards such as Dahlia, Aino, and “Consecrated Fanged Beast,” as well as action cards that expand tactical gameplay options.
The update also previews upcoming features, including a new Imaginarium Theater season starting May 1, and Spiral Abyss updates on April 16 and May 16, offering new floor mechanics, ley line disorder changes, and Abyssal Moon blessings. Adventure, combat, and rewards will see significant adjustments, emphasizing strategic planning and optimized character builds.
Additional improvements include new recipes, specialty dishes, wildlife, fish, achievements, namecards, and Travelers’ Tales content. System optimizations improve crafting, leveling, artifact management, and sound performance, while numerous bug fixes enhance stability, visual display, and gameplay consistency across characters, quests, and systems.
