Version 6.3 of Genshin Impact introduces a significant quality-of-life improvement for players looking to strengthen reaction-focused compositions. For the first time, you can now farm the Instructor Artifact Set in a dedicated Artifact Domain rather than relying primarily on random world drops or weekly and world bosses. This change makes obtaining and upgrading this set easier, faster and far more consistent, especially for players who haven’t yet unlocked high level artifact domains.
The Instructor Artifact Set remains one of the most accessible and versatile support artifact choices in the game. Its 2-piece bonus grants +80 Elemental Mastery, providing a solid baseline increase to reaction damage potential. But its real value comes from the 4-piece set bonus, which triggers a party-wide +120 Elemental Mastery for 8 seconds whenever an Elemental Reaction occurs. This buff applies to every character in the party and boosts the effectiveness of reactions such as Vaporize, Melt, Burgeon and Hyperbloom.
This means that once fully equipped, the Instructor set helps teams deal more damage through reactions by increasing the raw stat that most transformative reactions scale from: Elemental Mastery. Because the bonus applies to all party members, it synergizes well with teams built around constant reaction triggers and fluid rotation.
Previously, farming Instructor pieces required players to target world and weekly bosses, elite enemies or random chest drops, which was less efficient and often unreliable if you were targeting Artifact upgrades alone. Under the new Version 6.3 system, having the set available through a specific Artifact Domain removes much of the randomness, letting players focus Resin on farming exactly what they need faster.
This change becomes especially relevant in versions like 6.3 where reactions such as Lunar-Crystallize, Vaporize or Hydro-based transforms take center stage in emerging team metas. Support units or reaction enhancers such as Sucrose, Xingqiu, Mona or reaction-focused travel builds benefit greatly from the consistent party-wide Elemental Mastery boost.
Despite being a 4-star set, Instructor remains surprisingly effective even into mid-game content due to its accessibility and universal bonus. While players typically transition to higher rarity artifact sets later in progression, having Instructor available in an easier-to-farm domain means characters reliant on reaction uptime, but lacking dedicated gear, can remain competitive without excessive Resin investment.
With Version 6.3’s new Artifact Domain in place, new players and returning players alike can finally farm the Instructor Artifact Set as a purposeful tool for boosting reaction-based team performance, rather than hoping it drops as a side reward. This change increases build flexibility and empowers players to experiment with reaction-heavy compositions more comfortably throughout the game.
