Players can expect Lunar-Charged damage to increase by 75% in the first half, while Lunar-Crystallize damage gains the same bonus in the second half. New Abyss Mechanic
A notable new feature in 6.3 is the Abyss note: whenever a character deals Lunar-Crystallize damage, a shockwave is unleashed at the opponent’s position, dealing true damage. This effect can occur once every three seconds, emphasizing reaction-focused gameplay.
Detailed Boss Mechanics
Frostnight Herra enters a Gloomveiled state, increasing all resistance by 120%. She exits the state after taking 30 instances of damage. Lunar Reaction damage counts as three instances of damage. Upon exiting Gloomveiled, she absorbs the element she took the most damage from, gaining immunity and permanent application of that element. Lunar or Physical damage do not trigger this absorption.
Wilderness Hunter introduces a Grief-Stricken state when its HP reaches zero. Instead of dying, it recovers to maximum HP after a short delay. If players use skills that trigger Ascendant Gleam, Wilderness Hunter will enter Grief-Stricken directly. In this state, damage is scaled depending on whether the team is at Ascendant Gleam, and the boss only dies when maximum HP is fully depleted.
Lord of the Hidden Depths: Whisperer of Nightmares brings the Deepdark Shield. This shield blocks only physical attacks and is vulnerable to elemental attacks, while Lunar Reaction damage deals exceptional damage. Defeating the shield’s summons also damages the shield. When the Deepdark Shield is destroyed, the boss loses a large portion of HP and becomes Weakened, reducing all resistances significantly.
NPC Clothing Render
Leaked renders for 6.3 also reveal new NPC clothing designs, suggesting a visual upgrade for characters in the upcoming patch. These new outfits appear detailed, vibrant, and designed to fit the Lunar-themed aesthetics of the update.
What This Means for Players
The Spiral Abyss changes in 6.3 emphasize Lunar Reactions, creating opportunities for players to experiment with new team compositions. Boss mechanics require careful planning, reaction timing, and element-specific strategies. Players should focus on characters that maximize Lunar-Crystallize damage to take full advantage of the new shockwave mechanic.
With new NPC renders and clothing, the visual appeal of the game also receives an upgrade, providing a fresh experience for players exploring Liyue and beyond. Overall, 6.3 is poised to be one of the most engaging updates, combining challenging gameplay, deep strategy, and immersive visuals.
