Genshin Impact 7.1 Vodyanitsa Kit Leaks Reveal Mermaid Form, Microphones, Healing and Stellar Swirl Mechanics

With the Genshin Impact 7.1 beta approaching, a detailed set of leaks has reportedly revealed an early version of Vodyanitsa's complete kit. The Hydro Catalyst character appears to have a particularly unusual gameplay design, combining a mermaid transformation, musical mechanics, healing, off-field damage and interactions with the leaked Stellar Swirl reaction.

The information remains unofficial and subject to change, especially because the beta has not yet undergone extensive testing. Damage values, durations, scaling and even individual mechanics could be adjusted before Vodyanitsa's eventual release.

Vodyanitsa Normal Attacks, Charged Attacks and Plunging Attacks

Vodyanitsa reportedly uses a Catalyst and performs her Normal Attacks as a series of sonic attacks.

Her Normal Attack consists of up to four consecutive attacks that deal Hydro DMG. Her Charged Attack consumes Stamina before firing a water projectile that also deals Hydro damage.

Her Plunging Attack allows Vodyanitsa to attack enemies from mid-air and deal AoE Hydro DMG when she lands.

While these attacks appear relatively familiar for a Catalyst character, the more unusual parts of her kit begin with her Elemental Skill.

Elemental Skill, Mermaid's Overture

Vodyanitsa's Elemental Skill is reportedly called Mermaid's Overture. When activated, she transforms into a mermaid form and enters a special Microphone Summoning state.

• During this state, Vodyanitsa continuously summons microphones onto the battlefield. These microphones periodically attack enemies while coordinating with the active character.

• The microphones reportedly deal Hydro DMG and reduce the Hydro and Cryo RES of affected enemies. This could make Vodyanitsa particularly interesting for teams built around Hydro and Cryo damage.

• The skill also provides the active character with increased interruption resistance, allowing them to continue attacking with less risk of being staggered.

• Another important feature is that the microphones can periodically heal the active character. The leaked values currently list a microphone damage value of 5.89% of Vodyanitsa's Max HP, while microphone healing is listed at 5.93% of her Max HP plus 5.04%.

The current leaked skill information gives the Microphone Summon a duration of 16 seconds, with microphones appearing at approximately 3-second intervals. The healing interval is reportedly 1.5 seconds.

The skill also reportedly reduces Hydro and Cryo RES by 26% for six seconds, although this number is especially likely to change during testing.

Elemental Burst, Mermaid's Aria

• Her Elemental Burst is reportedly called Mermaid's Aria.

• Vodyanitsa sings and deals AoE Hydro DMG to enemies. If she is already in the Microphone Performance state, the Burst reportedly receives an additional effect.

• The current leak lists the Burst's damage at 82.2% of Vodyanitsa's Max HP, with a Microphone Resonance Bonus of 86.4%. It reportedly has a 15-second cooldown and requires 60 Energy.

This HP scaling is particularly notable because it suggests that Vodyanitsa's personal damage could become increasingly dependent on building a large Max HP stat.

Vodyanitsa's Stellar Swirl Mechanics

• One of the most interesting parts of the leaked kit is Vodyanitsa's interaction with Stellar Swirl.

• According to the leaked Ascension Talent, during the duration of her Elemental Skill, Stellar Swirls generated by the team are converted into Stellar Vortices.

Whenever a Stellar Vortex is generated or detonated, nearby enemies reportedly have their Anemo RES reduced by 30% for six seconds.

This means Vodyanitsa may not simply be a conventional Hydro character. Her kit appears designed around creating interactions between Hydro, Cryo and Anemo mechanics while simultaneously supporting the active character.

Solo and Ensemble Mechanics

Vodyanitsa's kit reportedly includes two special effects called Solo and Ensemble.

• When the active character deals Hydro or Cryo DMG through a Normal Attack, Charged Attack, Plunging Attack or Elemental Burst, one stack of Solo is reportedly consumed to increase the damage dealt by that instance.

• If a Stellar Vortex is currently present or has recently been present on the field, Solo is transformed into Stellar Solo, which can only be consumed by Stellar Swirl reactions.

• The leaked information also states that based on Vodyanitsa's Max HP exceeding 40,000, every additional 1,000 Max HP increases the relevant Stellar Conduct DMG by 260 and Hydro or Cryo DMG by 140.

The effect reportedly has a maximum increase of 6,500 Stellar-Conduct DMG and 3,500 Hydro/Cryo DMG.

Ensemble works similarly but focuses on nearby teammates instead of Vodyanitsa herself. It reportedly only affects nearby characters when certain Stellar Vortex conditions are active.

Exploration Passive, Mermaid Movement and Swimming

Vodyanitsa's exploration mechanics could be one of her biggest attractions outside combat.

• Her leaked Exploration Passive reportedly allows her to transform into her mermaid form while out of combat by continuously holding her Elemental Skill.

• While holding the Skill, Vodyanitsa consumes Stamina and can move across the surface of the water at high speed.

The state reportedly ends after a certain duration, when her Stamina is depleted or when the Elemental Skill is cast again.

The leak also suggests that while swimming, Vodyanitsa can consume additional Stamina in exchange for increased movement speed.

This could make her particularly useful for exploration in areas with large bodies of water, giving her a distinctive movement mechanic beyond her combat abilities.

Utility Passive Adds a Musical Touch

• Vodyanitsa reportedly has another unusual utility passive connected to instruments.

• When Vodyanitsa plays an instrument, instead of producing the instrument's original sound, the sound is reportedly replaced with her own a cappella vocals.

It is a small feature, but it fits the musical identity of her kit and could give the character additional flavor outside combat.

Vodyanitsa Constellation Leaks

Her leaked Constellations also appear to significantly expand her support capabilities.

• C1: Whenever Vodyanitsa heals nearby team members, they gain ATK based on 0.7% of Vodyanitsa's Max HP for three seconds.

• C2: Whenever a nearby character triggers a reaction, Vodyanitsa gains the Ensemble effect, increasing the active character's Hydro and Cryo CRIT DMG by 50% for five seconds. If a Stellar Vortex is present or has recently been present, Ensemble is transformed into Variation, increasing the active character's Stellar Swirl CRIT DMG by 60% for five seconds. The duration of Vodyanitsa's Elemental Skill microphone summons is also extended by nine seconds.

• C4: Vodyanitsa gains different effects whenever she heals a character. If the healed character has less than 40% HP, the healing amount of that instance is increased by 50%. If the healed character has more than 40% HP, Vodyanitsa's Max HP is increased by 20% for six seconds, stacking up to three times.

• C6: The leaked information indicates that the Ensemble and Variation effects from C2 can affect all nearby team members while the Elemental Skill microphones are active. Nearby team members also reportedly gain 25% increased Stellar Swirl DMG while their Hydro and Cryo DMG is increased by 50%.

Overall, this early leak paints Vodyanitsa as a highly specialized Hydro character with a combination of personal damage, healing, off-field assistance, elemental resistance reduction and exploration utility. Her Mermaid form and microphone mechanics could make her one of the more mechanically distinctive characters introduced in Version 7.1.

However, players should treat every number and mechanic above as STC, or subject to change. The 7.1 beta is expected to provide much more reliable information once testing begins, and Vodyanitsa's kit could receive significant balance changes before release.
