The Genshin Impact 7.1 beta has officially begun, and the first wave of new information is already revealing more details about one of the update's main characters, Vodyanitsa. The Hydro Catalyst user is receiving extensive attention in the opening phase of testing, with early data covering her character assets, signature weapon, Constellations and gameplay animations.
The latest beta information also confirms one of Vodyanitsa's most unusual features. Vodyanitsa can transform into a Mermaid while submerged in water, giving her a distinctive exploration mechanic that appears to function beyond the regions where similar underwater mechanics are normally associated with Fontaine.
All of the information below comes from early beta data and gameplay material. Vodyanitsa's kit, weapon effects and numerical values remain subject to change as testing continues.
Vodyanitsa Beta Assets and Character Information
The first Version 7.1 beta data includes several assets related to Vodyanitsa, including her character icons, Constellation assets, Namecard and Splash Art.
The appearance of these assets is another indication that Vodyanitsa is one of the main playable characters being tested during the opening phase of Version 7.1. Additional data is expected to emerge as testers explore the character and uncover more information about her combat mechanics.
Her gameplay footage is also now available, providing an early look at her Normal Attacks, movement, combat animations and other character actions.
Vodyanitsa Signature Weapon Leaked
Vodyanitsa's signature weapon is a 5 star Catalyst with a reported 542 Base ATK and 66.2 percent HP as its secondary stat.
The weapon increases the wielder's Healing Bonus by 8 percent. When the equipping character performs healing, they gain one stack of Hymn of the Water Imp.
Each stack increases the user's Max HP by 5 percent. The weapon also provides an ATK bonus to the active character based on the wielder's Max HP above 40,000. For every additional 1,000 Max HP above that threshold, the active character gains 0.25 percent ATK, up to a maximum of 5 percent.
Hymn of the Water Imp lasts for 8 seconds and can stack up to three times. Each stack reportedly has an independent duration, meaning individual stacks can expire at different times.
The weapon becomes significantly more interesting when certain elemental reactions are triggered. When a nearby party member triggers Frozen or Stellar Swirl, active instances of Hymn of the Water Imp, along with any instances that become active during the following five seconds, are transformed into Triumph of the Water Imp.
This upgraded effect reportedly increases the weapon's Max HP and ATK bonuses by an additional 75 percent.
Another important detail is that the weapon's passive effects can reportedly activate while the wielder is off-field. This could make the weapon particularly relevant for teams where Vodyanitsa rotates out of combat after applying her effects.
