HoYoverse has officially concluded the highly anticipated Genshin Impact Version “Luna VII” Special Program, delivering one of the biggest information drops of the year for the community. The livestream confirmed new banners, major story developments, gameplay showcases, fresh exploration mechanics and even an unexpected preview connected to Snezhnaya, sending fans into a wave of excitement across social media.
The Version 6.6 banner schedule was one of the most discussed reveals from the presentation. According to the official recap, the first half banners will feature Nicole, Durin and Prune, while the second half banners will focus on Lohen and Mavuika. The announcement immediately generated strong reactions from players preparing their Primogem savings for the upcoming update.
One of the most important confirmations from the livestream involved Lohen’s banner status. HoYoverse officially clarified that Lohen will not join the Standard Banner, ending months of speculation within the community. Because of this decision, players also realized that Lohen will likely not become available through future anniversary 5-star selectors, making his banner significantly more valuable for collectors and dedicated fans.
The Special Program also confirmed that Version 6.6 will include two separate Archon Quests, something rarely seen in a single update cycle. Lore enthusiasts are already calling Luna VII one of the most story heavy updates in recent memory, especially after the release of the official trailer “Truth Amongst the Pages of Purana.”
Another major highlight was the reveal of the new weekly style boss encounter, Exalted Master of the Heretical Path. Fans quickly noticed that the enemy strongly resembles another version of Dottore, further fueling theories connected to clones, alternate selves and forbidden experiments. The reveal instantly became one of the most viral moments from the livestream due to Dottore’s popularity and his mysterious role in the evolving narrative.
HoYoverse also showcased the gameplay kits for Nicole, Prune and Lohen, giving players an early look at their combat mechanics, animations and team roles. Nicole’s abilities especially attracted attention after the livestream demonstrated her exploration passive showcase, which appears designed to improve traversal and open world utility. Many players are already predicting that Nicole could become one of the most influential exploration focused characters released so far.
Version Luna VII will additionally introduce two completely new artifact sets, though the full details and optimization possibilities are still being analyzed by theorycrafters. Early community reactions suggest that the new sets may heavily support upcoming Luna VII characters and future team compositions tied to the next regional story arcs.
Outside of combat content, HoYoverse revealed a brand new realm connected to the witches, alongside a special event themed around Nicole’s banner. One of the most interesting details is that players will reportedly be able to return to Nicole’s area for additional rewards, including activities tied to a weekly lodge system. This feature has already sparked discussions about possible long term exploration content and recurring progression mechanics.
The livestream concluded with two massive reveals. First came the official Genshin Impact 6.6 trailer, expanding the mysterious themes surrounding dreams, wisdom and hidden truths. Immediately afterward, HoYoverse surprised viewers with a Snezhnaya preview teaser, offering one of the earliest looks yet at the long awaited region connected to the Fatui Harbingers and the Cryo Archon.
As expected, the Special Program also included three new redemption codes for free in game rewards. Players can currently redeem the following codes before May 11, 2026 at 12:00 UTC+8:
